I am a Ruby on Rails developer in San Francisco, California. I am passionate about building simple, beautiful and sustainable web applications using Agile planning principles and behavior-driven development.

I prefer working on small teams and developing in quick iterations. I enjoy solving problems. I am deeply technical, and also creative in everything that I do.

Senior Software Engineer (2007 – present)

At PAC, I lead a group of four developers to rewrite a PHP test-taking application using Ruby on Rails. I implemented XP on this project for story based project planning and estimation. Also used Rspec, globalize, Rails 2.1.0 and the acts_as_state machine plugin.

Find Biodiesel

(ongoing side project)

Find Biodiesel is a simple search tool for finding biodiesel filling stations around the world. I built & launched the first working version from scratch in one weekend. Utilizes the Google Maps API, Geocoding API, dynamic sitemap

Wamily

Co-founder (2006 – 2007)

Wamily is a platform that allows anyone to build their own social network with all the web 2.0 goodness that you would expect. I founded the company as the technical co-founder in 2006. We succeeded in building a beautiful and 75% functional web application, but failed in launching it before we ran out of money.

I lead the design, architecture and development from day zero

Worked with many Rails plugins, gems & APIs including: Rmagick, Capistrano, attachment_fu, ziya graphs, memcached, Flickr API, Amazon S3

Skribit

Skribit is a widget and platform for bloggers to gather suggestions from their readers. Skribit was a product of Startup Weekend Atlanta, which I participated in and helped bring Skribit to launch in one weekend.

Casino Sage

Casino Sage is a highly interactive online gambling portal that I developed in 2003 using PHP and MySQL. With the help from one business partner, Casino Sage peaked in 2004 with thousands of hits per day. The website and related businesses were sold for a modest profit in 2006.

Vaco Technology

Through Vaco Technology I worked in a 6-month contract position for Circuit City Stores from June to November, 2006. I acted as an Oracle Retail technical subject matter expert for Circuit City’s supply chain transformation project.
